Repeat Prescriptions

Patients can order repeat prescriptions due within the next seven days using the online service via the link at the top of this page.

pharmacistRepeat prescriptions can be ordered at reception or by post and will normally be available after 48 hours (normally after 2pm on the second working day following your request). Excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.

For example - hand in your request Monday morning, it should be ready on Wednesday after 2pm.

For example - hand in your request on Friday afternoon, it should be ready on Tuesday after 2pm.

Other ways to order your repeat prescription:

- Email requests for prescription can be sent to boulevardadmin@nhs.net

- Drop off your prescription slip off in the post box outside of the surgery. Make sure to tick the medication you're requiring.

- Write your request on a piece of paper with your details and medication you're requiring and pop it in the post box.

- Pop in the surgery to fill out the prescription request form. This can be found at the front reception.

Please plan ahead for your prescriptions, taking account of holidays as 48 hours notice is required for ALL requests. If you request medication that is not on your repeat list, a reason must be given.

Note we do NOT accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.

You will now need to order your own medication.

Why this is happening:

  • Prevent waste through medicines being over ordered.
  • Reduce spend on unwanted medicine
  • Prevent stockpiling medicines
  • Put patients in control of their own medicines.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Medication reviews are important to ensure that your medicines and doses are appropriate and that you are not experiencing any unwanted side effects.  We may contact you by letter, phone call and increasingly by text message.

It is important that you attend review appointments even if you feel well and are happy with your medicines in order for the doctor to monitor your progress.

Please do not use urgent appointments for a medication review.
